The Health And Well-Being Of Our Members And Staff Is Our Highest Priority
All of our OsteoStrong centers are closely monitoring local and national CDC guidelines for operation. Since OsteoStrong is not a gym but an appointment-based wellness center focused on individual sessions we can continue to provide the highest level of service within social distancing guidelines to support the well-being of our membership.
In the event of a mandated closing, our centers will reopen when possible. Please click here to consult with your local center for up to date information on their open status.
BENEFITS OF MUSCULOSKELETAL STRENGTH CONDITIONING
OsteoStrong sessions utilize a series of robotic musculoskeletal treatment devices that allow axial compression of bone to emulate the effect of impact. Because of the robotic optimized positioning of the human body, loading forces go through the human bone that is far higher than those seen in daily activity or exercise. Heavy loading is already understood and recommended by all international bodies of medical education, but at OsteoStrong, we make it safer.
A force of 4.2 multiples of body weight is the minimum required force to trigger bone growth in the hip joint (the most important place to avoid fracture) and peak forces with adults in conventional resistance exercise only show 1.26 to 1.54 multiples of body weight (1).
Conditioning seen in OsteoStrong sessions often exceeds 8 multiples of body weight, which is why bone density growth is so rapid (2,3,4). These forces also trigger changes in muscular density, as well as the thickness of tendons and ligaments which can improve biomechanics, posture, and reduce joint pain.
Below is a downloadable PDF of the charts used throughout the site that help summarize and compare research results. All of the research studies used in the creation of these graphs and charts can be found and referenced within the PDF.

THE OSTEOSTRONG TECHNOLOGY:
OUR PATENT-PENDING SPECTRUM SYSTEM
OsteoStrong uses the Spectrum System to deliver unprecedented results. Spectrum is first-in-class of a new category devices called Robotic Musculoskeletal Development System (RMDS).
Spectrum was invented by the Father of Osteogenic Loading, Dr. John Jaquish, Ph.D. Dr. Jaquish is the Chief Science Advisor for OsteoStrong and author of Osteogenic Loading. Dr. Jaquish has been a frequent speaker at the World Congress on Osteoporosis. His contributions to the OsteoStrong brand have been invaluable in bringing this technology to the world.
Research shows that the stimulus required to trigger osteogenesis (growth of healthy bone tissue) is 4.2 multiples of body weight (4.2 MOB). Achieving that level of stimulus would be difficult for many without the Spectrum System. However, OsteoStrong members easily, safely and without injury or pain, achieve in forces in excess of 5 to 12 times their own body weight. High-impact is one of the most power stimuli the musculoskeletal system can experience. The scientific research shows the results that are available to people of all ages and fitness levels.
Spectrum consists of 4 separate devices. Under the supervision of a trained technician, each Spectrum device allows individual members to experience the precise level of force for their musculoskeletal system. Members only need to experience brief levels of force to get the benefits. The entire circuit only takes few minutes to complete and once the stimulus has been experienced, the central nervous system can trigger osteogenesis.
